Ghostlight Parlour is being built as a home for independent & niche fragrance, education, events, music, community, and the beautiful ritual of discovering scent together.
Jess was born and raised in Austin and spent more than a decade in retail and beauty before building a nearly twenty-year career producing film, television, live events, and experiences. Her relationship with fragrance stretches back decades, including professional fragrance education during her years in beauty retail and, more recently, deep involvement in the independent perfume community and live fragrance events.
Doug has called Austin home for more than twenty years. His background spans retail management, construction, remodeling, fabrication, and the wonderfully unglamorous skill of knowing how things actually get built.
Together, we're creating the kind of place we want to exist in our city.
Ghostlight Parlour began with a simple idea: Austin deserved somewhere to truly experience independent fragrance.
Not through a screen. Not from a list of notes. In person.
A place where you could smell something strange because the bottle caught your eye. Ask questions without feeling like you should already know the answers. Learn directly from the people who create the fragrances. Sit down. Stay awhile. Hear music. Meet someone. Discover a house you had never heard of and leave completely obsessed.
So we decided to build it.

Ghostlight Parlour will center independent and niche fragrance houses, especially the artists, perfumers, and founders doing extraordinary work outside the traditional department-store system.
But the bottles are only part of it.
Education, conversation and gathering are fundamental to what we're building. We want visiting perfumers. Master classes. Launch parties. Workshops. Live music. Community events. Collaborations. Fundraisers. Long conversations about why something smells like a memory you haven't thought about in twenty years.
We want fragrance to feel human again.

Austin has given us careers, friendships, communities, stories, and a home. We want Ghostlight to participate in that ecosystem rather than simply sell things inside it.
That means supporting independent makers, collaborating with local artists and businesses, creating opportunities for people to gather, and using the space to show up for our community whenever we can.
